COURSES AT SHIPLEY COLLEGE:
BTEC STUDY PROGRAMME AVAILABLE FROM
ENTRY TO LEVEL 3
On a BTEC course you will:
• Be a full-time student, studying and building
your knowledge, skills and confidence for
approximately 16 hours a week at our campus
in Saltaire.
• Have the opportunity to get experience of work
both in the College and through external work
placements.
• Get the knowledge, understanding and skills
to prepare you for further study, training or
employment.
• Level 3 BTEC courses earn UCAS points equivalent
to A Levels which support entry to university.

individual course entry requirements).
APPRENTICESHIPS AVAILABLE AT INTERMEDIATE
(LEVEL 2), ADVANCED (LEVEL 3) & HIGHER
(LEVEL 4)
If you are ready to start earning and feel you are
responsible and hard working, then an apprenticeship
is ideal for you.
As an apprentice:
• You are employed and paid full-time directly by
a company while studying for your qualifications
at College. This is normally split in to four days a
week in a job, plus a day at College.
• You can follow in the footsteps of over 90% of
our apprentices who have moved in to full-time
employment.
• Your advanced apprenticeship is equivalent to
2-3 A Levels, which can lead to, or be an
alternative to, university.

TRAINEESHIPS – THE ALTERNATIVE ROUTE IN
TO EMPLOYMENT
Are you 16 to 24 but still not sure what is best for
you? We know it’s not always easy to find the role for
you, especially with little or no work experience and
few or no qualifications. Traineeships help bridge the
gap between the skills that you have and those that
employers need.
