AT SHIPLEY COLLEGE?
BRADFORD DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
30 students from College experienced the thrills of
racing in the Bradford Dragon Boat Festival on the
River Aire. Our students entered as ‘Titus’s Titans’,
and with team spirit then went on to form the main
part of 3 different teams by volunteering to help
Team Pakistan and the West Bradford Youth Service
Inclusion Team. The students thoroughly enjoyed the
experience and made new friends along the way.
RACE FOR LIFE
College staff and students took part in the Race for
Life at Bradford’s Lister Park where they joined more
than 1000 runners at the annual charity fundraiser.
They completed the 5k course and raised over £350
for Cancer Research. Well done to everyone who
took part.
PICTURE PERFECT & THE SALTAIRE
ARTS TRAIL
Two students from the Centre of Excellence for
Business (CofE4B) worked with volunteer group,
Saltaire Inspired, to raise money for The Cellar Trust.
They organised, catalogued and promoted a
“Design a Postcard” exhibition open to all artists,
both amateur or professional. The cards were then
put on sale during the Saltaire Arts Trail.
In addition, the Shipley College Knit & Natter Group
made lots of small red creatures which were hidden
about the village for visitors to find and keep.
