ASSESSMENT<br />

Many of our courses have some externally<br />

assessed units. You will often be assessed in<br />

other ways with internally marked assignments,<br />

including building a portfolio of work, practical<br />

tasks and presentations. These and other types<br />

of evidence will form part of your final grade.<br />

ADDITIONAL STUDY (STUDY<br />

At <strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong>, we recognise the importance<br />

of students having good English and maths<br />

skills.<br />

These skills are very important for your future<br />

studies and employment prospects. Our<br />

approach will help you enjoy these subjects<br />

as you learn and achieve better grades.<br />

<strong>Full</strong>-<strong>time</strong> students<br />

If you are 16 -18 years old, on a full-<strong>time</strong> course<br />

and have not yet achieved GCSE grade 4 (C) or<br />

above in English and maths, you will continue to<br />

study these subjects.<br />

If you have already achieved GCSE grade 4 (C)<br />

or above in English or maths, why not look in to<br />

improving your qualifications?<br />

We have AS English or Core Maths on offer.<br />

Apprentices<br />

You may also study ICT, as well as English and<br />

maths, as part of your studies.<br />
