• An apprenticeship vacancy in a Health & Social<br />

Care setting for a minimum of 30 hours a week<br />

(this will include one day in college per week).<br />

• You must pass an initial assessment in English<br />

& maths.<br />

• You should be at least 16 years old.<br />

• You will have an interview.<br />

• A clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check<br />

at the start of the course.<br />

ABOUT THE COURSE<br />

This apprenticeship prepares you to work within<br />

Health & Social Care in roles such as a Support<br />

Worker, Care Assistant or Personal Assistant.<br />

You need to enjoy supporting and caring for others<br />

and have a responsible attitude and commitment to<br />

this type of work.<br />

You will need to complete the Care Certificate, Level 2<br />

Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adult Care pathway)<br />

and self-reflection on the last month of your<br />

programme, which will be submitted to the end point<br />

Assessor to prepare for your professional discussion.<br />

You will also need to pass the end point assessment<br />

and a multiple choice test.<br />

YOUR FUTURE<br />

After completing an Intermediate Apprenticeship,<br />

you can progress on to the Lead Adult Care Worker<br />

Advanced Apprenticeship or full-<strong>time</strong> study at<br />

college. Alternatively, you can use the skills and<br />

experience you have gained to progress further<br />

in your career.<br />

experience and/or a Level 2 qualification in Health<br />

& Social Care.<br />

• You must pass an initial assessment in English<br />

& maths.<br />

• You must be 18 years or over.<br />

• You will have an interview.<br />

• A clear Disclosure and Barring Service DBS check<br />

at the start of the course.<br />

ABOUT THE COURSE<br />

You will help people with specific needs in their<br />

everyday lives including disabled or elderly people<br />

or those with learning disabilities. This care can<br />

include helping a person to get dressed, transporting<br />

them to and from a residential home or taking them<br />

shopping. You will help plan support needs to enable<br />

people to live fulfilling lives. It prepares you for work<br />

as a senior support worker and senior care assistant.<br />

You will need to complete the Care Certificate, Level 3<br />

Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adult Care pathway),<br />

and a self reflection in your last month. You will<br />

also need to pass the end point assessment and a<br />

multiple choice test.<br />

YOUR FUTURE<br />

After your apprenticeship, you can study a course at<br />

college or university, such as a Higher Apprenticeship.<br />

Alternatively, use the skills and experience you have<br />

gained to progress further in your career.<br />
