ME TO WE
3 DAYS • 1 COUNTRY • ECO-LODGE ACCOMMODATION
Keen to volunteer during your
trip? Split off from your Lava
Line or Ecuador & Galapagos
Island Hopper routes and join
ME to WE for a one-of-a-kind,
unforgettable experience,
venturing deep into Ecuador’s
Amazon rainforest.
Visit a community that works with
our partner, WE Charity, a TreadRight
supported charity, connect with locals,
and experience their culture firsthand
by participating on a sustainable
development project alongside
local families.
ITINERARY:
DAY 2 (of your trip): Quito to Minga Lodge.
We’ll be meeting up with the ME to We team in Los
Rios, before travelling by boat down the Napo River.
Arriving at Minga Lodge, we’ll then take part in a trip
orientation, and after dinner take a night walk through
the Amazonian jungle. (B,D)
DAY 3: Minga Lodge.
After meeting and getting to know the local
community and their current priorities, we’ll spend
most of our day volunteering on a build for a current
local infrastructure project. Later on, we’ll experience
a Shamanic Ceremony and learn the ins and outs of
indigenous weapons from a local hunter. (B,L,D)
DAY 4: Minga Lodge to Banos. Waking up early,
we’ll head out before breakfast to explore the
rainforest by daylight, keeping our eyes peeled for
toucans, long-tailed Potoos, as well as the myriad of
flora and fauna. It’s then back onto the boat as we
journey back to Los Rios, where you’ll continue on to
Banos for the rest of your Contikit adventure.
You’ll be staying in the
ridiculously beautiful Minga
Lodge, a 300 hectare private
reserve on the edge of the
Napo River. Think jungle cabins
with added organic flair,
including hot water and en suite
washrooms. Oh, did we mention
this place is only accessible by
boat, specifically a motorized
canoe ride down the Amazon
river. Eco living goals or what?
