Exporter of the Year
Winner of this category was Russell Finex for consistent year on year sales
growth that has been achieved through a well thought-out export strategy.
Judges felt that the 17% increase in top-line sales and a 35% increase in
bottom line profit in the last 12 months spoke for itself and a planned office
in Brazil is next on the company’s agenda. Highly commended was Endoline.
Exceptional Sales Performance
Winner of this category was Riggs Autopack. Judges said that a clear set of
goals and strategy, lots of research and development focused on customer
requirements plus engaged employees and a complete re-branding exercise
proved to be a winning formula for this British manufacturer of depositors, filling
machines and conveyor filling lines. Highly commended was Gordian Strapping.
Partnership of the Year
Sponsored by Machinery Update, the winner of this category were Dimaco
and Starflex Packaging Europe for joining forces to create a new machine
that is relevant to many end users. Veri-WEIGH is a system that combines
multi-parameter product verification from a small footprint and was
launched at the PPMA Show. Highly commended were Tekpak & Ilapak.
Environmental Initiative of the Year
Sponsored by Sutton Winson, the winner of this category was Russell Finex for a
programme that included a ‘paperless’ initiative, eco-friendly power sources
and appliances such as solar panels, a wood pellet boiler and eco-certified air
conditioning systems and LED lights. An 8% decrease in energy consumption
in just 12 months has been achieved. Highly commended was ICS Cooling.
