technology at drinktec <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
At the show, Sidel outlined how<br />
beverage producers, brand owners<br />
and co-packers can benefit from<br />
high speed, high quality digital<br />
printing of variable graphics and<br />
text on pack at the point of filling,<br />
through a special inline digital<br />
printing (IDP) solution.<br />
The DataLase IDP solution<br />
is a unique technology that<br />
enables inkless, high-speed, fast<br />
turnaround digital printing which<br />
is ideal for mass customisation,<br />
and personalisation for<br />
the beverage industry.<br />

the KHS Group is<br />
launching a compact<br />
labeller that is<br />
specifically tailored<br />
to the requirements<br />
of craft breweries and<br />
spirits bottlers.<br />
Seen for the first<br />
time at drinktec, this<br />
KHS Innoket Neo’s<br />
little brother has a<br />
capacity of 2,500 to<br />
25,000 bottles per<br />
hour. The Innoket<br />
Roland 40 can be<br />
fitted with various<br />
labelling stations<br />
and is designed to<br />
be easy to use.<br />
“The new machine is<br />
specially geared towards<br />
lines with a smaller output,”<br />
explains Cornelius Adolf,<br />
labelling product manager<br />
at KHS. During development,<br />
particular attention was<br />
paid to simple operation and<br />
a high degree of economy,”<br />
he continues. “The table<br />
machine is not only of interest<br />

companies in the food and<br />
non-food industries, such<br />
as manufacturers of canned<br />
food, pet food or shampoo.”<br />
In its standard version,<br />
the Innoket Roland 40 comes<br />
with two cold glue stations.<br />
This allows shoulder and<br />
neck labels to be applied at<br />
two levels by the first station,<br />
for instance, with the second<br />
station affixing back labels<br />
to the bottles. Alternatively,<br />
self-adhesive stations,<br />
a combination of cold glue<br />
and self-adhesive technology<br />
and hot melt labelling<br />
processes can be used.<br />
The new labeller can also<br />
be extended if volumes<br />
increase or needs change.<br />
