Chris Guy has<br />

joined TÜV SÜD<br />

Product Service<br />

as its new UK<br />

divisional<br />

director, taking over<br />

responsibility from Jean-Louis<br />

Evans who has retired.<br />

He joins from the consumer<br />

technology division of UL,<br />

a US-based testing and<br />

certification company, where<br />

he was regional general<br />

manager with responsibilities<br />

across Europe, the Middle East,<br />

Africa and Latin America.<br />

He started his career in several<br />

technical positions for RFI<br />

Global Services before moving<br />

into more commercial roles.<br />

OPTIMA consumer<br />

Christoph<br />

Held has<br />

joined Optima<br />

consumer<br />

GmbH as its new<br />

managing director, taking<br />

over the role from Rainer<br />

Feuchter who is withdrawing<br />

from the operational side of<br />

the business by the end of this<br />

year. Feuchter will, however<br />

continue working on different<br />

projects in a consultancy role<br />

going forward. Held brings<br />

many years of experience<br />

from well-known packaging<br />

machinery companies to the<br />

new senior position.<br />

Matcon<br />

Andre Goodson<br />

has been<br />

appointed as<br />

the new global<br />

systems director<br />

at Matcon, responsible for<br />

overseeing the development of<br />

the systems team and business.<br />

Goodson has been a member<br />

of the IDEX Corporation team<br />

for nearly six years, working<br />

in the air compressor side of<br />

the business and has enjoyed<br />

leadership roles on both sides<br />

of the Atlantic.<br />

Scorpion Vision<br />

Julian Parfitt<br />

has joined<br />

Scorpion Vision<br />

as sales director.<br />

With over 18<br />

years of experience in the<br />

global imaging and machine<br />

vision industry, he will be<br />

heading up the components<br />

division at the company<br />

and be responsible for sales<br />

and marketing the full range<br />

of imaging brands.<br />

“Julian is well respected in<br />

the industry and brings<br />

extensive experience to the<br />

role,” says Paul Wilson,<br />

managing director of Scorpion.<br />

WMH<br />

George Court<br />

has joined<br />

WMH as design<br />

engineer to help<br />

strengthen the<br />

overall design team. He joins<br />

from a precision engineering<br />

background where he gained<br />

experience in 3D design<br />

and stress analysis. He will<br />

take a hands-on role in the<br />

controls and automation area<br />

of the business.<br />

Ishida Europe<br />

Motion Products<br />

Brian Prescott<br />

has joined<br />

Motion Control<br />

Products as<br />

technical<br />

product manager for<br />

actuator and mechatronic<br />

products. He has spent over<br />

35 years in the automation<br />

industry and this new role will<br />

see him supporting the sales<br />

team and OEMs around the UK.<br />

Sparc Systems<br />

Daniel Frank<br />

has joined Sparc<br />

Systems as<br />

international<br />

sales manager<br />

tasked with moving the<br />

company’s reach into Europe<br />

and beyond to support<br />

new distributors in the US<br />

and Australia signed up at<br />

interpack earlier this year.<br />

Steve Elliott<br />

has joined Sparc<br />

Systems as<br />

design manager.<br />

He will head up<br />

the design team and brings<br />

experience from previous roles<br />

at Ishida and Baker Perkins.<br />

Ishida Europe is celebrating 20 years of manufacturing in the<br />

UK. The company opened a European facility for the assembly<br />

of its multihead weighers and checkweighers in 1997 and since<br />

then, UK staff numbers have increased from about 40 to over<br />

400, and production has more than quadrupled. Today the<br />

range also includes filling/distribution systems, graders, tray<br />

sealers, pick & place robots, seal testers and leak detectors.<br />
