NIGHT OUT While a night on the town
for dinner, dancing and clubbing is very
popular, there are plenty of other options

town, try something different like a new
restaurant and be sure to arrange safe,
convenient transport for everyone

NIGHT IN If you or your friends
don’t want to spend a lot of
money, a girls’ night in can include
a cocktail party, pot luck meals,
party plan cosmetics, lingerie or
makeover, karaoke hire or even a
pizza and DVD.
MAKE TIME A scavenger hunt is
easy to organise and there’s always
the fun of a dance class together,
jewellery making, cooking school,
cheese making or some divine
pampering at a day spa.
TAKE A TRIP There are
many wineries in and
around Christchurch, so a
wine tour and tasting can
be a fun day out with lunch
included. Destinations
like Akaroa, Methven,
Kaikoura and Hanmer
Springs all within a two
hour journey. With harbour
cruises, hot pools, whale
watching, train trips or
skiing in winter, there’s
plenty of action adventure
too, not to mention golf,
mountain biking and hot air
ballooning.

impending marriage. These “single send offs” can range from

The groom’s celebration is usually devised by the Best Man, while the Chief

organise a bike trail team event with
challenges along the way.
TAKE A TRIP Road trip, boat trip,
fishing trip, camping trip or mystery
weekend, enjoy a nostalgia visit
or head for pastures new. Grab a
seat and head for special event or a
destination to explore. Go to the
horse races.
BACK TO SCHOOL Learn a new
skill or activity for a great bonding
opportunity; wine tasting or brewery
tour, golf lesson, cooking school,
adrenalin adventure or pub quiz.
HOME ON THE RANGE Gather
at home for backyard cricket, a basic
Barbie, a movie night, game of pool
or pizza, pints and poker for peanuts.
