House of Kavina has become a
mecca for brides from all over the
country.
Among the racks you’ll find
exquisite gowns from Venus, Cizzy,
Stella York, Essense and Martina-
Liana Bridal and Zavana. House of
Kavina specialises in sizes ranging
form 2-28, with a good selection
for our goddess curvy girls to try
on.
Choosing a bridal gown is not
simply finding a dress you like,
“it’s the whole experience of being
a bride, including the touch and
the feel of a gown and connecting
to it in a way that isn’t possible if
you buy online” says Hilary “You
can’t get the wow factor from an
on-line purchase based on a picture
and it often results in a poor fit,
a disappointing gown and a bad
experience. It’s sad but true that
usually you only get what you pay
for.” She believes it is helpful for
a bride to “bring a friend but not
a crowd” to a bridal consultation
because it’s good to have a second
opinion from someone you trust
when you are trying different
styles. It is a quieter more relaxing
experience if there are not too
many opinions!
Unlike many bridal houses,
Hilary’s exceptional stock of
gowns means many of them
can be purchased on the day of
consultation, or ordered within
a maximum time of 16 weeks.
“Brides love being able to take their
chosen gown home then and there,
although I often advise them to
“sleep on it” just to be sure about
their choice” says Hilary.
In addition to the popularity
of ivory, her range of gowns also
includes soft romantic colours like
oyster, blush and cafe which are
exceptionally popular. “This season
there are romantic floaty styles,
figure hugging gowns, illusion
necklines and backs, but most of
all there is beautiful lace and soft
floating tulle. This new season also
features the revival of clean satin
classic lines.”

Kavina which is open Monday to
Friday 9-5.30pm and Saturdays
10-2pm. Bridal consultations on
Saturdays are by appointment. So
