122 With This Ring Since opening a retail store last year, Charmed Flowers has become known for its beautiful flowers that are just a little bit different. “Local businesses in the area have become great fans, they simply love our style and service” says owner Ginny Fagan. As a full service florist providing flowers for everyday occasions, funerals and weddings, Charmed Flowers can also offer exquisite styling and floral props for your wedding venue too. “People sometimes don’t know what can be done with flowers so I like to find out what couples envisage for their day and create the look and feel of it through the flowers” says Ginny. While every wedding is uniquely different, people often recognise Ginny’s personal style of floristry which is quite natural, rustic and unstructured. “I love big blooms like peony roses, dahlias and hydrangeas and enjoy sourcing items like hop vines to provide a less conventional background” she says. Florists are often called upon to replicate overseas trends and currently wedding styles include long lush table garlands, big, loose hand tied bouquets, floral crowns and hanging floral installations. We can do almost anything that bridal couples want, but they often don’t realise the cost and time involved for elaborate floral effects. We often suggest combining fresh flowers with our hire range of beautiful silk floral props to make it more affordable” says Ginny. “A big trend coming through this wedding season is foliage and lots of it. The effect is informal but so pretty, it’s very natural and lush which is why I think it appeals to so many couples.” The Charmed Flowers team provides free consultations and meets with most couples before the wedding to discuss their preferences, colours and requirements. An itemised quote is then emailed out and once accepted, the florist will then “touch base” 6-8 weeks before the wedding and then again 1-2 weeks before to finalise all the details. The experienced staff at Charmed Flowers can provide a complete package including the floral styling of your wedding venue or they can source wholesale flowers through their sister company Stems Wholesale Flowers if couples want to DIY their floral decorations.
