Profiles: meeting Jeollabuk-do’s international students
Coming from all corners of the world and walks of life, it’s no exaggeration to say that
Jeollabuk-do’s international students are windows to the outside world. Lumping international
students together under one label fails to acknowledge each student’s unique background,
aspirations in life, and worldview. JB Life would like to give an opportunity to some of
Jeonbuk’s international and Korean students to introduce themselves in their own words.
I came here to pursue my graduate studies. Korea is
known to provide quality education and as a place
of opportunity if a person is interested in pursuing
research in science and technology.
It is a quaint place full of friendly and nice people,
the food is the best in Korea and it has a mellow and
relaxed vibe.
Keeping tradition while keeping up with modernity
I would like to run my own biomedical company in
the future, and to create biomedical materials that
could help patients that suffer from various medical
conditions.
I would also like to help students achieve their full
potential by supporting their studies and mentoring
them with the skills I acquired while studying/
working here in Korea.
Korean Language Education
Watching Korean dramas and doing make up^^
Almost 3 months
First of all, I love Korean culture, language, food
etc. That’s how I started to learn Korean back in
my country. Now I’m majoring in Korean Language
Education to help other Georgian students learn the
Korean language too.
For years I dreamed about coming here to South
Korea and the first place I came to is Jeollabuk-do.
Almost everything here met my expectations.
People here are very kind, always happy when they
see foreigners and try to talk, smile and be nice.
I plan to stay here for next 2 years and I really want
to make lots of Korean and foreign friends and
improve my Korean language skills more. I want
these 2 years to be very interesting and meaningful
for me, as I plan to be a Korean Language teacher.
