Award: Associate of Applied Science<br />
Length: Sixty-four credit hour program<br />
Purpose: By 2022, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects<br />
employment for administrative assistants will grow<br />
by 13.2 percent. This curriculum is designed to prepare<br />
students for full-time employment immediately upon<br />
completion of the community college program. Persons<br />
who are seeking their first employment in an office position<br />
as well as those who are seeking a promotion may<br />
benefit from this curriculum.<br />

Admission Requirements: In additional to the admission<br />
requirements established for the college, entry in the<br />
Administrative Support Technology program re- quires<br />
competency in English<br />
and Math Essentials (MTE 1-3) as demonstrated through<br />
the placement and diagnostic test, or by satisfactorily<br />
completing the required MTE and ENF requirements or<br />
equivalents.<br />
Program Description: The two-year program includes<br />
instruction in areas required for competence as office<br />
support personnel in business, government, industry, and<br />
other organizations. Approximately one-half of the<br />
curriculum will include courses in Administrative<br />
Support Technology with the remaining courses in related<br />
subjects, general education, and elective credits.<br />
Students are encouraged to consult with their faculty<br />
advisor to plan their program and to select electives.<br />
Upon satisfactory completion of the program requirements,<br />
students will be awarded an Associate of Applied<br />
Science degree in Administrative Support Technology.<br />
