reasons that <strong>the</strong> Jews <strong>of</strong> Spain were oppressed so<br />

many years ago. As a result <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> first<br />

persecutions, <strong>the</strong> Jews left, and were driven out <strong>of</strong><br />

Spain. But as a result <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> second, <strong>the</strong> Spanish<br />

were driven out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Philippines, and out <strong>of</strong><br />

Cuba; for in this latter time <strong>the</strong> cup <strong>of</strong> her iniquity<br />

was full and her punishment was decreed from<br />
