ASSOCIATE MEMBER DIRECTORY 58 The AMC Chairman’s Report Through the hard work and dedication of past and present associate members, the AMC was able to accomplish several firsts this past year. The AMC is pleased to report that it awarded the first scholarships to deserving students of member universities. With the support and coordination of the RAA staff, the AMC presented its first seminar to the regional airlines, with a focus on quality assurance and cost reduction. Finally, the AMC is now 15 members strong for the first time, increasing the diversity of the backgrounds and ideas represented. Did you know that the golf tournament raffle and donations are the sole funding mechanism for the RAA Scholarship? The AMC would like to see the scholarship endowment continue to build over time. The AMC plans to take steps to increase the awareness of the scholarship, as well as offer different ways for the conference attendees to donate to the education of our future industry leaders. During the 2006 Annual Conference in Dallas, associate member GE Aviation presented a Lean Six Sigma seminar to both the Operations Forum and to the General Session. The AMC will continue to support similar programs and utilize its resources to develop programs of value and interest to the regional airlines and associate members. The AMC intends to increase its visibility at future conferences. As a key intermediary between the regional airlines and the associate members, we want to make sure everyone is aware of who we are and the purpose we serve. We encourage airline and associate members to bring any questions, ideas or comments to our attention. As the regional airlines’ legacy partners struggle to restructure their costs, the resulting downward pressure on the regional carriers impacts everyone in the industry. The interdependent relationship between the regional airlines and the associate members is crucial to the success of our industry. The AMC is committed to working with both the regional airlines and the associate members to find ways so that both parties continue to gain from this mutually beneficial relationship.
