Aviation Devices and Electronic Components,
L.L.C. (Av-DEC) is a Fort Worth, TX,
based company whose primary business
focus is corrosion prevention in the aviation
industry. Av-DEC was founded in
order to address, reduce and prevent the
debilitating effects of the aviation industries
most significant and ongoing
maintenance problem – CORROSION.
Since its inception, Av-DEC has invented
and patented unique non-hazardous
polyurethane products designed to accomplish
these stated goals.

Av-DEC has expanded from solving corrosion
related issues in the commercial
airline market, to the regional airline and
military markets. Current products include:
HiTak Polyurethane Antenna Gaskets
(conductive), HiTak Polyurethane Tape
(structural sealing), HiTak Polyurethane
StretchSeal (connector sealing), and both
SelfLeveling and Thixoflex injectable
sealants. Av-Dec is an FAA approved 145
repair station (#AV6R204X) for wire
harnesses. Our innovative sealing products
can be incorporated into the repairs. Av-
Dec’s product line is customer driven; we
develop products to solve our customer’s
corrosion problems. Av-DEC is an innovative

ARINC, an air transport industry-owned
company, is dedicated to servicing the
communication needs of the industry.
ARINC was formed in 1929, by a consortium
of airlines to manage air-ground
communications, and by 1938, it was
operating a national HF air-ground voice
network of about 320 stations,
performing flight following, providing

current and forecast weather, and relaying
messages from pilots to company operations.
After World War II, ARINC became,
and continues today, as the sole services
provider to the FAA of HF air traffic control
communications in US oceanic airspace.
Since 1978, ARINC has provided airto-ground
VHF data link communications
services to airline and general aviation
aircraft via a dedicated network covering
the North American continent, Hawaii, the
Caribbean and several US territories.
Airline administrative control, airline operational
control and air traffic control
communications are available to aircraft
equipped with the Aircraft Communications
Addressing and Report System
(ACARS) datalink. ATC departure clearances
are delivered at 30 major airports
today. By the end of 1996, departure
clearances, Automatic Terminal Information
Systems (ATIS) message and terminal
weather for pilots will be available to
ACARS-equipped aircraft at 57 airports in
the US and Puerto Rico. Worldwide satellite
data link communications are available
to suitably equipped aircraft over GLOB-
ALINK, ARINC’s satellite network.
ARINC also operates a domestic VHF
aeronautical voice communications
network throughout the US. This service
can provide phone patch capabilities, as
well as transcription of voice messages for
transmission through the ARINC Data
Network Service (ADNS), a worldwide
ground-ground packet-switched network
connecting airline host computers, travel
agents, rental car companies and hotel
chains. An ADNS gateway to the FAA
facilitates automatic filing of flight plans.
