success.
On a more serious note, we are in desperate
need of volunteer Marshalls to man the road
junctions for the races. Marshalling allows us to
comply with UK Athletic and Council
requirements for road closure applications and
has a big role to play in the safety of all the
runners. To fully man the marshal points on the
course, we would ideally need over 100
marshals for the 2 races, numbers have
dwindled over the past few years, and its now at
crisis point for us, as organisers, to provide a
safe environment for the races to take place. If
you are able to provide an hour of your time,
please contact me on imb@talktalk.net or 07937
685290 to offer your services, full briefings are
given (10am for the Penn 7 and 1.30pm for the
Fun Run) marshal tabard are issued, and you
can get a free drink and something off the BBQ!
I can’t stress enough the essential need for this
role to be covered, as if we cannot meet the
demand, the races may be in danger of not
taking place.
Heres hoping you can all support us and the
wonderful causes, as you have over the past 35
Super Fun Run weekends, and continue to make
this weekend the brilliant village event we can
have.

PENN 7 &
SUPER FUN RUN
Sunday 17th June... Fathers Day, so that means
its time for yet another Super Fun Run!
11am sees the start of the Penn 7, Chip timing
will be used again this year, mini marathons on
the Common for 5, 6 and 7 year olds around
12.30, followed by the Fun Run at 2.30pm.
entries for the Penn 7 and Fun Run can be
made online at runbritain.com, or follow the
links form the Super Fun Run site on
bucksvoice.net, or Google us (other Search
Engines are available!), its cheaper booking in
advance, and helps our administration, however,
you can also enter on the day, but please do it
early to avoid the ques on the day!
We are setting up on the Saturday, and always
need a few hands to help us do so, if you can
offer an hour or so, feel free to come up to the
Common from 9 ish to help out.
We will have all the usual attraction, Bar,
BBQ, bouncy castle and inflatable obstacle
course, and also this year we will be running a
very informal dog show, so bring your
pampered pooches along and join in the fun. We
are often asked if you can run with your dogs in
the Fun Run, this year we are saying yes, but on
the proviso that anyone wishing to do so starts
from the back of the runners.
This year we are supporting 2 worthy
charities, “Sparkles”, who are a local based
group who provide support for Pre School
Down Syndrome children, and also “Charlies
Footsteps”, which is raising funds for the Oliver
family to allow Charlie the life changing
operation which will help him to walk for the
first time, ( The same operation we funded 2
years ago for Orla, who as you know has a new
life because of the wonderful support from you
in the village)
