comparison of the extra-fine triple combination therapy with
the IND / GLY.
The other two abstracts presented a post-hoc analysis
comparing the extra-fine combination to Tiotropium on
basis of the TRINITY3 study, and a cumulative analysis of
the TRIBUTE, TRINITY and TRILOGY4 studies comparing
BDP / FF / G to ICS-free drugs and drugs with extra-fine
ICS, based on fatal cases.
During the ATS meeting, an industry panel sponsored
by Chiesi was held on the topic “The importance of the
extra-fine triple combination therapy in the management
of patients with COPD”. Professor Alberto Papi, Professor
of Respiratory Medicine and Director of the Section of
Respiratory Diseases of the Department of Clinical and
Experimental Medicine of the University of Ferrara, Italy,
as the moderator and presenter of the industry panel and
the lead author of the TRIBUTE study, made the following
statements: “New findings on the comparison between the
triple combination and LABA / LAMA open the door to new
perspectives for the treatment of patients with moderate to
severe COPD”.
Professor Leonardo Fabbri, Visiting Professor at Goteborg
University and the co-author of the abstracts, stated:
“I think that the positive effect of the triple therapy on
survival, combined with clinical efficacy and safety profile
guaranteed, should bring a reform to the debate on the
key role of the triple combinations of ICS on symptomatic
COPD”.
The abstract presented at ISPOR congress revealed the
findings of a cost-effectiveness analysis based on the
TRIBUTE study showing that the triple combination therapy
offered by Chiesi, with a cost per Quality-Adjusted Life Year
(QALY) which is significantly lower than the QALY threshold
of £20,000, is cost-effective compared to the IND / GLY.
It was noted that the cost-effectiveness of the new triple
therapy is a result of the reduction of exacerbations and the
increase in Health-Related Quality of Life compared to IND
/ GLY therapy.
Regarding the presentations, Mr. Alessandro Chiesi, the
Head of Region Europe at Chiesi Group stated the following:
“The analysis presented today at such a prestigious
congress manifests Chiesi’s commitment to offer costeffective
treatment options for COPD, which is a progressive
disease that creates a high burden. Chiesi had already
presented the cost effectiveness that Trimbow provides
compared to LAMA as a single agent, ICS / LABA and ICS
/ LABA plus LAMA (separately applied triple therapy) at
ISPOR European Congress 2017 held in the previous year.
Today, we have presented the missing piece of the puzzle,
complementing the evidence showing the benefits the
triple combination therapy provides for COPD patients
in comparison with single -agent or double combination
inhaler therapies. Hopefully, we will continue to offer the
positive effects that will be provided by our new fixed dose
triple combination therapy.”

gelen olumlu etkinin, IKS içeren üçlü kombinasyonların
semptomatik KOAH hastalarındaki anahtar rolüne ilişkin
tartışmaya yenilik getirmesi gerektiği kanısındayım”
açıklamasını yaptı.
ISPOR kongresinde sunulan özette, Kaliteye Göre
Ayarlanmış Yaşam Yılı (QALY) başına oluşturduğu maliyet,
QALY eşiği olan £20.000 düzeyinden oldukça düşük olan
Chiesi’nin üçlü tedavisinin IND/GLY’ye kıyasla maliyetetkinliği
sağladığını gösteren TRIBUTE araştırmasına
dayanan bir maliyet-etkinliği analizinin sonuçları açıklandı.
Yeni üçlü tedavinin maliyet-etkinliği, IND/GLY tedavisine
kıyasla alevlenmelerde elde edilen azalmanın ve Sağlıkla
İlişkili Yaşam Kalitesi’nde elde edilen artışın bir sonucu
olduğu işaret edildi.
