Remembrance 5k Walk/Run<br />
Saturday, Sept. 8, 7am<br />
Each year, the City remembers the victims and honors the<br />
heroes of 9/11. This is a family friendly event. Awards will be<br />
given out to<br />
the top three<br />
overall male and<br />
female finishers,<br />
as well as the<br />
top three in the<br />
age-appropriate<br />
categories. Team<br />
awards will also<br />
be given out to<br />
the top fire rescue department, law enforcement department,<br />
EMT paramedic department, and top club. All finishers will<br />
receive Medals and T-shirts. The race begins at the Coral<br />
Springs Northwest Regional Library, 3151 University Drive,<br />

fundraising social to benefit Operation Smile. The event is open<br />
to the public. It will take place at Painting with a Twist, Paint<br />
Studio #224, 720 Riverside Drive, Coral Springs. The cost is<br />

us for this free public training event to become trained,<br />
equipped, and<br />
empowered to<br />
help save lives<br />
in a bleeding<br />
emergency<br />
before<br />
professional<br />
help arrives. Learn how to apply tourniquets, pack wounds,<br />
check seals, and more. The training is conducted by Igor<br />
Nichiporenko, MD, medical director of trauma services and<br />
hands-on training at Broward Health North, 201 E. Sample<br />

Operation Smile benefit<br />
Saturday, Sept. 29, 2 to 4pm<br />
The Coral Springs Woman’s Club will host its first charity<br />
Coral Springs will host its own twist on Oktoberfest. Enjoy<br />
a night of German culture and art at the second annual<br />
Artoberfest celebration at City Hall. The event will feature<br />
authentic entertainment, a stein-holding competition, and a<br />
Yodeling contest.<br />
Artoberfest is the perfect event for enthusiasts who enjoy a<br />
festive atmosphere with traditional German cuisine, beverages,<br />
and music. The Swinging Bavarians will perform throughout<br />
the evening.<br />
There will also be a Biergarten by Tucher and German wines<br />
available. Traditional Foods by The Ambry will be available for<br />
purchase. Proceeds from alcohol sales will benefit the Coral<br />
Springs Museum of Art. Free parking will be available in the<br />
City Hall parking garage. City Hall is at 9500 West<br />
