HERON HEIGHTS
ELEMENTARY

Welcome back to school, Heron Heights
Elementary staff, students, and families.
Please note that there is no school on
Monday, September 3, in observance
of Labor Day. School is also closed on
Monday, September 10 and Wednesday,
September 19.
Thank you to our many wonderful
volunteers that turned out at our PTO
Volunteer Breakfast in August. If you
haven’t done so already, all volunteers
must complete an application at
www.browardschools.com.
On September 12 there is a Mandatory
Room Parent Meeting at 9am.
The PTO’s Fall Book Fair kicks off on
September 27. Volunteers are needed
to assist students with their selections
and purchases, as well as with setup
and breakdown.
Mark your calendars on Thursday,
September 27, for BINGO night. Sign
up in advance for sessions beginning at
6:15pm or 7:15pm. Join the fun with our
teachers, parents, students, and their
families.
We hope that students are adjusting
to the new school year, their new
classrooms, and peers embarking on
a happy and productive year. Hooray
HHE Hawks!
RIVERGLADES
ELEMENTARY

Welcome back! School is in full swing
here at Riverglades Elementary. Get your
calendars out for some of this month’s
school highlights.
No Brainer FUNdraiser is back.
Riverglades direct donation campaign
fundraiser is in full swing from
September 4 to 14. As parents and
PTA supporters, we want to raise funds
for our school and provide the students
with the tools to learn and expand their
education. We are looking forward to
reaching our $30,000 fundraising goal,
continuing to support our school with
additional technology, teacher wish
lists, music instruments, educational
programs, family events, and so much
more. This way, with every $1 you give,
100 percent goes to our school. Look

On September 12, we will have our
evening RES PTA General Meeting. This
is a perfect time to learn more about
PTA and what the upcoming year has to
offer. The evening meeting is also a good
opportunity to network with your local
friends and families here at Riverglades
and learn how you can continue to
support our school.
During the week of September 24, we
are also celebrating our teachers with
a special day just for them, Teacher
Treats. Thank you teachers and staff for
all you do.
On September 28, we will be hosting
the official Room Parent meeting for all
you room parents. Room Parents are
a very important group of volunteers
both to our teachers, PTA, and our
families. This meeting will answer the
questions you have about how to be a
Room Parent and provide you with the
information you will need for this school
year.
We know how much fun reading can
be and there is no better way to bring
the world of books to our kids than the
Scholastic Book Fair from October 1
to 5. Students will have the opportunity
to visit the Book Fair and explore what is
offered.
