✓ Plugins: Controls the plugins used in Totem.<br />

✓ Preferences: Allows you to set basic video and audio settings, such as<br />

setting color balance and audio-output format.<br />

The View menu controls how the video is displayed on your screen:<br />

✓ Fullscreen: Displays the video file, using the entire computer screen.<br />

✓ Fit Window to Movie: Automatically alters the Totem viewing window<br />

to fit the default size of the video file; allows you to view the movie at 50<br />

percent (a ratio of 1:2) of the default size.<br />

✓ Aspect Ratio: Allows you to set the viewing mode to either standard 4:3<br />

or 16:9 for widescreen videos.<br />

✓ Switch Angles: Changes the camera view on DVDs that provide that<br />

feature.<br />

✓ Show Controls: Displays the Play, Skip, and Location controls at the<br />

bottom of the viewing window.<br />

✓ Subtitles: Displays subtitles if included in the video.<br />

✓ Sidebar: Includes the Playlist sidebar window in the viewing window.<br />

The Go menu controls which part of the video file is being played. For video<br />

files, it provides links to specific menus within the video, such as title menus,<br />

chapter menus, audio menus, and camera-angle menus. It also uses these<br />

generic options:<br />

✓ Skip To: Locates a specific point in the video file.<br />

✓ Skip Forward: Goes quickly forward in the video file.<br />

✓ Skip Backwards: Goes quickly backward in the video file.<br />

The Sound menu controls how the audio is handled:<br />

✓ Languages: Plays alternative language audio tracks if they’re available in<br />

the video file.<br />

✓ Volume Up: Increases the volume level of the audio track.<br />

✓ Volume Down: Decreases the volume level of the audio track.<br />

The Help menu displays the Totem manual and information about the software<br />

version that you’re running.
