The Ubuntu
Services
Settings
window.
The installed services are listed, each with a check box that indicates
whether the service is currently activated. You can control several services
from this interface:
✓ Actions scheduler (anacron): Schedules programs that run automatically
on a regular basis, such as log cleaning scripts.
✓ Actions scheduler (atd): Schedules programs that run just once.
✓ Audio settings management: Controls audio settings using the soundcard
drivers.
✓ Automated crash reports support: Generates reports if any application
crashes.
✓ Bluetooth device management: Detects and configures Bluetooth
devices on your system.
✓ Braille display management: Controls Braille terminal output.
✓ Computer activity logger: Generates log files to track users and programs.
✓ CPU frequency manager: Controls CPU access on laptop devices to
save power while idling.
✓ Graphical login manager: Provides the graphical login page in Ubuntu
(it’s not a good idea to disable this unless you’re using just the commandline
prompt).
✓ Hotkeys management: Detects key combinations to perform common
actions.
