Statement of Intent:
Over the years, I have obtained the necessary education, knowledge, skills,
experience, leadership abilities, and resources that qualify me for the MNA
Director of the Council on Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) position. My
goal as an advanced practice nurse is to continuously increase access to safe,
affordable, and high quality healthcare services to individuals across the
lifespan while meeting the educational needs of APN students. Serving as the
MNA Director of the Council on APN will be the perfect building block as I
continue on this journey. Thus, indulging in healthcare policy through service
to MNA provides the gateway. If elected, my intent is to:
1. promote the significance of healthcare policy to APNs and promulgate
MNA’s role in the progression of APNs;
2. influence prospective and current advance practice nurses, as well as the
community’s engagement in healthcare policy and MNA;
3. influence APN curriculum to purport healthcare policy as the foundation
for education, practice, research, and administration; and
4. keep MNA and advanced practice nurses abreast of the most current
education and issues impacting APNs.
My philosophy as stated from the heart:
“Professional, holistic nursing is an integral part of life for dedicated members of
the profession. Therefore, as a dedicated member of this prestigious profession,
it is my mission to persistently advance in nursing and utilize it as the vehicle by
which I can fulfill the healthcare necessities and educational opportunities for
as many individuals as possible. In the process of providing and/or preparing
others to provide quality, safe healthcare services to individuals, I will attain
personal and professional goals in addition to life fulfillment.”
I believe in excellence when it comes to patient care and outcomes.
Understanding the significance of healthcare policy in this process is
unparalleled. I pledge to always dedicate my passion for nursing to the
ongoing growth and success of MNA. As Director of the Council on APN for
the MNA Board of Directors, it will be an honor to serve the organization,
fellow colleagues, and the entire nursing profession.
