long line of solemn-faced young men
and women marched int o t he bright
auditorium which wall well filled wit h
pro ud parents. relat ives an d f riends
of t his. the graduating body of 1950­
51. Just pre vious to this. th e sta ff
a nd gu ests had ta ken thei r places on
the fern -decked platform.
T he exercises began wit h an ope n­
ing pray er by the Reverend Canon
Wilkinson of St. Paul's Chu rc h. who
is a n "Old Roy of J arvis" . :'.Ir. J enkins
gave a welcomi ng speech to all
and offic iated ove r the exercises. The
Chai r man of the Roard of Education.
:'.I r. W. :'.Iale. th e speaker of t he eve ­
ning. spoke to t he graduates. and his
word!' will long be an inspi ration to
them. T hen. regretfully. :'.Ir. ) [a1e
exc used himself. as he had to appea r
at anot her commence ment. However,
before leaving he a nnounced t he
names of those recelvlng t he Secondary
School Graduation Diplomas.
