Phase 3 of the Course Development Plan was successfully completed this year, with the 6 th , 11 th , 13 th and 17 th holes
now ticked off the list. As with last year, the work includes sympathetically re-routing and re-surfacing paths so that
they do not detract from the playing experience, tree clearance to open up views and give the heather a chance and
reworking the bunkers to give them more character, lining them at the same time.
This year’s work also included a subtle mellowing of the 17 th green, which was so steep in sections that shots were
spinning off (sometimes being putted off!) with balls ending up 40 yards away in the trees. It will remain a steep
green but good shots will be rewarded again.
