Lima Golf Club, Lima, Peru
The project at Lima is a great example of how quickly concept plans can be turned into reality. The first visit was made
to Lima in March 2017 and, by May 2018, the Club’s annual invitation tournament was played over the reconfigured
course and the elite players in the field were able to practise on the brand new driving range. The practice facilities
have, in some ways, been the focus of the project but the course has been strengthened as well with a new par 3 9 th
hole, a new 8 th green and revisions to the routing of the 1 st and 10 th holes. A second phase of work is now underway
with all existing bunkers being reshaped, new ones added and all fairways being upgraded with Bermuda grass.
The double ended driving range has three artificial target greens which can be used as a short course for beginners
and juniors when the range is closed, giving the Club a great facility to allow new golfers to take their first steps in
playing the game. A fun putting green has been added at the Clubhouse taking its concept from the Himalayas at St.
Andrews. It has been aptly named ‘The Limalayas’!
