be in touch with the world.
Everything is somehow linked
to the architect and emotions.
Specialized lights are part of
the area in where we live. Exceeding
limits is very important
in design. I need to feel motivated
to do this job. Istanbul and
New York are very special cities
for me. They look very different
but share the same dynamics.
I love cities where I can get
inspired. There are teenagers
here. What we do must reflect
modern times.”
Noting that he was delighted to
be in Turkey, the Finnish designer
Markku Piri added, “I work
as an artist and designer. Without
colors, I’d go crazy; I love
colors. Here I also saw works
expressing Turkish handicraft
in a mixture of traditional and
European styles. The Finnish
people have a special relationship
with nature. Every object
in the world has its essence.
People are also a part of this
nature.”
Swedish designer Sara Garanty
said, “We live in a continually
changing world. The
technology era we live in has
a massive impact on us. We
saw the effects of technology
at the furniture exhibition.
Colors are also very relevant to
where you are from. In some
countries, some colors evoke
other interpretations. They
vary according to the cultural
background, age, place of birth.
The world we live in is affecting
our mood.”
yansıtmalıdır.” dedi. Türkiye’de
olmaktan dolayı çok mutlu
olduğunu kaydeden Finli tasarımcı
Markku Piri, “Ben aslında
sanatçı ve tasarımcı olarak
çalışıyorum. Renkler olmazsa
delirirdim, renkleri seviyorum.
Burada Türk el işlerini anlatan
tasarımlar da gelenekselliğin
ve Avrupa’nın bir arada olduğu
çalışmalar da gördüm. Finlandiya
halkının doğayla özel ilişkisi
var. Dünyadaki her nesnenin
kendi bir özü vardır. İnsanlar da
doğanın bir parçası.” dedi.
İsveçli tasarımcı Sara Garanty
ise “Sürekli olarak değişen
bir dünyada yaşıyoruz. İçinde
yaşadığımız teknoloji bizde çok
büyük etkiler bırakıyor. Mobilya
fuarında da teknolojinin etkisini
gördük. Renkler nereli olduğunuzla
da oldukça ilgili. Bazı
ülkelerde bazı renkler başka
yorumlara açık. Kültürel arka
plan, yaş, doğum yerine göre
değişiklik gösteriyor. Yaşadığımız
dünya duygu durumumuzu
etkiliyor.” ifadelerini kullandı.
