JANuARy sTARTs ON The RIghT NOTes
The New Year starts with some great live music acts lined-up at Chelmsford's Civic Theatre and Cramphorn
Studio.
The Illegal Eagles will swoop down and land on the Civic's stage on Saturday 12 January at 7.45pm. The
world's No.1 Eagles tribute has been playing for over 20 years, delighting audiences wherever they perform.
The Illegal Eagles musicians know the Eagles back catalogue inside out and are backed by a stunning light
show and audio visual backdrops. The band will perform the very best of The Eagles, so expect to hear
‘Take it to the Limit', ‘Desperado', and of course ‘Hotel California'.
John Hylton will be reviving the greatest hits of Neil Diamond in his ‘Real Diamond' show which comes to the Civic on Friday 18
January at 7.45pm. Neil Diamond sold over 100 million records during his career, but has now retired. ‘Real Diamond' is now the best
way for fans to appreciate Neil's remarkable songs. The show will feature ‘America', ‘Sweet Caroline' and ‘Forever in Blue Jeans'. The
show will also celebrate Neil's landmark album, ‘The Jazz Singer', so why not come along and say ‘Hello Again' to the only Neil
Diamond tribute in UK theatres.
Fans of prog rock will be heading to the Cramphorn Studio to see and hear Wilson and Wakeman. Whilst they may not be household
names, both musicians have an interesting pedigree. Adam Wakeman is the son of Yes keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman, but has
made a name for himself playing, writing and touring with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath and has also worked with Slash, Travis,
Annie Lennox and many more. Damian Wilson is a respected rock guitarist who played on over 70 albums. Together they formed the
prog rock band Headspace in 2007, and they will be playing songs from their collected repertoire and from those they have worked
with. Catch Wilson and Wakeman on Friday 25 January at 8pm.
January will end with ‘That'll Be The Day' on Thursday 31 January and Friday 1 February at the Civic. The ever popular production
returns with a new show for 2019. That'll Be The Day features the hits of 50s, 60s and 70s, all mixed with the shows trademark humour
and comedy.
The Lunchtime Concerts continue every Wednesday in the Cramphorn Studio at 1pm and offer a delightfully relaxing interlude to
the day. The lunchtime concerts are free, although a donation of £1 is suggested.
