degree to impact design of the equipment and
plant facilities; and Cindy, whose degree is in
business, uses her expertise to guide Dietz &
Watson into a professional, computerized
world of accounting and finance.
Just completing a five-year expansion plan
that increased plant size from 250,000 to
325,000 square feet, Dietz & Watson has also
purchased a new, 180,000-square-foot facility
in Baltimore, Maryland. A state-of-the-art
quality control and research lab ensures the
availability of a wide range of premium products
for the retailer’s deli case, meat case, and
food service areas. These products include
Dietz & Watson’s award-winning frankfurters,
bolognas, and hams, the only “Philadelphia
Scrapple Made in Philadelphia,” and a quality
line-up of pork, beef, turkey, chicken, and
home meal replacement products.
The Dietz & Watson marketing concept
emphasizes tremendous support and follow-up
for retailers, from advertising to marketing,
and from point-of-sale materials to
deli case sell-tags containing the nutritional
information so important to today’s consumers.
Through the company’s network of
direct account managers, set-up people, driver/salesmen
and brokers, it is able to provide
a full-service line of products for the delicatessen
of any fine retail outlet.
Coordinated efforts by company personnel
in all divisions, working toward a common
goal, have led to a degree of dedication and
teamwork surprising in today’s world.
Nurtured by the open, honest communication
between management and employees, the
company continues to retain its characteristics
of mutual trust and dedication.
Dietz & Watson continues to seek enthusiastic
personnel who are interested in
becoming a part of the opportunities offered
by this solid, growing company. The large
number of workers who have been a part of
the company’s growth and development over
a period of many years underlines the Dietz
& Watson concept of offering good employees
“a job for life,” with an emphasis on continuing
education, training and orientation.
All this is further augmented by a family
atmosphere that extends from the owners to
the newest workers, and in turn to a recognition
by those in the production side of the
business that quality and sales go
hand-in-hand, and that both are essential to
the continued success of the business.
