Top: In March, 1905, members of <strong>Tulsa</strong>’s<br />

business community organized a<br />

promotional trip to Terre Haute, Indiana, to<br />

convince people in Indiana that <strong>Tulsa</strong> was<br />

the place to live and work. In the front row,<br />

second from the right, is Will Rogers, known<br />

then as “Bill Rogers,” who accompanied the<br />

<strong>Tulsa</strong>ns to entertain audiences with his rope<br />

tricks and humor.<br />

Middle: The Frisco Railroad Depot on July<br />

3, 1908. The depot was located where<br />

Boston Avenue crossed the Frisco tracks.<br />

Bottom: <strong>Tulsa</strong> County citizens were proud of<br />

their country and hosted huge celebrations<br />

each Fourth of July.<br />
