VILLAGE EXPOSITION Village Voice February/March 2019 I must start with two ENORMOUS "thank you"s: firstly, to the many organisations who turned out and put a lot of effort into their displays; and secondly to all those of you who came on such a horrid, miserable, damp January day. Most of the organisations I spoke to were pleased that they had several interested people – so if you expressed an interest, do follow it up and go and try them out. I know I came away with a Gerrards Cross Sailing Club winter talks leaflet and there are one of two I’m determined to go to and I can assure you that whilst I like sailing, I am hopeless when it comes to waves higher than an inch or two (or centimetre or two to those of you younger than I!). Many visitors left saying that they had no idea that so much went on in the village and it’s surroundings and I know that I was surprised when I started working out who to contact. We are really, very, very fortunate to live in such a community so please do make the most of it and do spare an hour or two a month to help keep it that way if you possibly can. Hopefully, this is something we can repeat in a few years’ time but in the meantime, if you want publicity for your organisation, do send copy to voice@pennandtylersgreen.org.uk and if you are sitting at home wondering what to do, read this magazine and also either visit the Village Hall or look at tylersgreenvillagehall. co.uk for details of the many activities and classes that take place there. Finally, a big thank you from the Evening WI, whose hat I wore in organising this event under our campaign to Alleviate Loneliness, to the Trustees of the Village Hall who provided the hall for free and to the Penn & Tylers Green Residents’ Society for helping us promote the event.
