BEBOP<br />

A superb little intimate jazz club with<br />

regular live gigs and filled to the brim every<br />

night adding to the wonderful atmosphere,<br />

with the extra added bonus of serving great<br />

value drinks.<br />

MIAMI LOUNGE<br />

This place is a must for before and after<br />

dinner cocktails. There is an extensive<br />

choice of cocktails available in this lively<br />

and perfectly located bar. The place is localy<br />

known for its buzzy ambience and brilliant<br />

night time lighting. A great place to visit<br />

with friends.<br />

BAR CORTIJO<br />

Probably the oldest bar in the city with<br />

a traditional feel and offering. Definitely<br />

one for the bucket list to mix with the<br />

locals and even sample some of the local<br />

dishes on offer.<br />

CULTURAL AFTERNOON<br />

UNESCO<br />

The ancient Roman ruins were placed<br />

on the list of UNESCO World Heritage<br />

Sites in 2000. The site includes an<br />

amphitheatre, theatre, circus, city walls,<br />

Roman necropolis and an aqueduct, which<br />

lies just outside the city.<br />

AMPHITHEATRE<br />

Built in the 2nd century the site measures<br />

130m by 102m and could hold over 15,000<br />

spectators.<br />

TARRAGONA CATHEDRAL<br />

Declared a national monument in 1905,<br />

and was constructed in 1154. A glorious<br />

building with a bell tower 70m high.<br />

NATIONAL ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM<br />

The museum includes archaeological<br />

findings of Tarraco’s Roman and early<br />

Christian past. The museum’s origins lay<br />

in the 19th century, making it the oldest of<br />

its kind in Catalonia, with some collections<br />

assembling objects found from the 16th<br />

century onwards.<br />

BEACH<br />

Finally, let´s not forget about Tarragona´s<br />

beautiful beach, Playa El Milagro. The golden<br />

sands of this Costa Dorada beach attracts<br />

visitors from all over and it offers a 980m<br />

stretch of sand as well as views of the port.<br />

BUCKET LIST<br />

CONCURS DE CASTELL<br />

The fascinating Concurs de Castell<br />

celebration takes place in Tarragona,<br />

every two years. In October, the Le<br />

Tarraco Arena and the streets of<br />

Tarragona are filled with 32 teams<br />

of everyday people climbing up each<br />

others’ backs and onto shoulders in<br />

an effort to make the tallest human<br />

pyramid. A sight to behold.<br />

EL SERRALLO PORT<br />

The fishing quarter, a picturesque area<br />

and well worth a stroll, watch the<br />

fishing boats bringing in their catch,<br />

whilst sampling tapas and aperos…<br />

BALCÓN DEL MEDITERRÁNEO<br />

The terrace and the paths that<br />

extend from it offer a multitude of<br />

photo opportunities. Continuing a little<br />

further along the beach, the scenery<br />

becomes more rugged, providing a wide<br />

range of landscapes and backdrops.<br />

FESTIVAL DE SANTA TECLA<br />

The largest festival of its kind in the<br />

region, taking place for 10 days in<br />

September, with origins tracing back<br />

to the 14th century.<br />

KORXO<br />

A locally popular old-town wine<br />

and tapas bar. Tables huddle under<br />

streetside umbrellas and there’s no<br />

wine list. The team will just dig you out<br />

something tasty from the impressive<br />

wine collection featuring Catalan DO<br />

favourites like Penedès and Montsant.<br />
