2019 Alabama State Nurses Association Annual Convention
Christy Lewis, MSN, RN, CCM
District: 5
View of the Issues: I feel it is crucial to the longevity of nurses to have staff ratios
reviewed and in many settings adjusted to ensure nurses are able to provide the
highest quality of care. I know the importance of workplace safety and am proud of the
advancements that have evolved in the past year this is an issue I would like to continue to watch and if
needed revise in the future.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Wanda Hicks, DNP, FNP-BC
District: 4
View of the Issues: The most pressing issues impacting nursing today lack of interest in
nurse advocacy; political action; mentorship and membership. These are the four pillars of
the ASNA and if elected to the nominating committee, I will be instrumental in working to
help nominate nurse leaders to assist to elevate our profession to the next level!
Lovie McAboy, MSN, BSN, RN
District: 4
View of the Issues: Plan to provide qualified candidates to run for office because I have
been a member of ASNA for numbers of years. Positions previously held: president of
Mobile County Nurses Society, District President, President of ASNA Ethnic and Human
Rights Committee, member of the Award Committee, and served as a delegate to a number
of state conventions.
Lynn Brown, DNP, RN-BC, CNE
District: 5
View of the Issues: I am willing to serve on the nominating committee representing
district 5. This past year, I have served as chairperson. If reelected, I would like to serve
as a committee member and resource. I believe it is important to have a robust ballot and
inform ASNA members about candidates to move our organization forward.
