Chris Forbes graduated from Samford University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree, Nurse<br />
Educator Concentration. He is currently the Campus Chair of Nursing at Jefferson <strong>State</strong> Community<br />
College in Clanton, AL and a member of ASNA, District 2. He has been a Registered Nurse for 23 years<br />
and has practiced within the areas of critical care, telemetry and psychiatry. Originally hailing from Pride,<br />
Louisiana, Forbes’ research interests have been greatly influenced by the nursing profession’s impact in<br />
rural communities. He currently resides in Alabaster, AL with his wife, Annette and two sons, Nathan and<br />
Grant.<br />

James Hardin earned the ASN from Troy <strong>State</strong> University, the BSN from Jacksonville <strong>State</strong> University and<br />
the MSc International Management of Health Systems from the University of Liverpool. He currently serves<br />
as the District Nurse Administrator of Home Care for the <strong>Alabama</strong> Department of Public Health. Over<br />
the last 25 years as a Registered Nurse, he has worked in nearly every healthcare setting, in a clinical,<br />
educational, or administrative role.<br />

Erica Kierce earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at Vanderbilt University and her Psychiatric<br />
Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner Degree at UAB. She has been a nurse for over a decade and a faculty<br />
member at Auburn University since 2015. She maintains clinical practice in both inpatient and outpatient<br />
settings with a focus on child and adolescent mental health. Kierce is also a consultant with the <strong>Alabama</strong><br />
Psychiatric Medication Review Team, a collaborative effort to decrease psychotropic medication overuse<br />
by children in foster care.<br />
