145 bpm is known to elevate your mood
and so Nick, our in- house DJ compiles
uplifting playlists and mixes the music
for the classes to provide a unique
exercise experience.
“We have a number of regular clients
now and it is brilliant to share the
fruits of our week together, as well as
keeping fit. People who danced when
they were younger have tried the class
and wondered why they ever stopped
and the classes are open to all ages and
abilities, so everyone is welcome! So far
the age of our clients had been 21-83! So
we are fully inclusive!
We have an abundance of gyms that
cover a multitude of lifestyles - 24 hours,
family friendly, specialising in weights,
fully trained personal trainers on hand.
You name it, Uckfield has it.
And, if you danced when young, why
not try and get fit with dance? Michelle
Clark runs new adult Dance Fit sessions
on Monday evenings at EDDA studios in
central Uckfield from 8.45pm, and on
Wednesday’s at Horsted Health Club,
East Sussex National from 7.30pm.
Michelle says: “The NHS website
recommends dance for fitness ,and our
classes provide you with the opportunity
to do just this ‘on your doorstep’ with
both a central Uckfield and a Health
Club location, and both in purpose built
dance studios. Listening to music above
"My brother, Nick Clark, and I began
connecting with people in Sussex and
Kent who were in a similar position and
discovered lots of people looking for a
new purpose in their lives and wanting
to connect with people in their local
community. The main aims for the
classes were therefore to give people the
opportunity to exercise, have a giggle
and enjoy sharing time together on a
weekly basis."
Active isn’t just about sport though, it
might be about becoming active in your
community -You could adopt an area
in the town and keep it kept and tidy,
volunteer with on of the many clubs and
associations in the town or even take
a hand in politics with May being the
local and District elections.
So whatever you’re looking to do, theres
a club, group, person to help you along
the way. What will your new ACTIV-ity
be?
