What they Said
We have been participating in the show for
years and every year we look forward to it.
We’ve done great business this year. Our
jewellery making techniques have been greatly
appreciated by our clients.
Deepak Jain, Vijay Gems and Jewellery
The show was very good, with excellent turnout,
although client selections were a little measured.
Overall, it was a great show for us. Gold rates didn’t
effect us much as we mostly work on an order based
model and there is strong buying season ahead. Across
all categories clients were mostly looking for price point
based jewellery. Jewellery with a good spread but low
gold/diamond weights were doing very well.
Sumit Kamalia, Uma Ornaments
Our consumers have loved our new collection. Since
lightweight is in fashion, I have stuck to that and created
lightweight jewellery. Everybody has really appreciated our
designs. Very happy with the show as I think even other
jewellers have done well.
Anand Shah, Anand Shah Jewels
The show has done really well, we have had good
sales and my expectation for the upcoming wedding
season is very high. We were a little uncertain
looking at gold prices earlier but now looking at the
overwhelming response we are quite happy.
Nirmal Bardiya, RMC Gems
We have been
satisfied with
the show. Some
old customers
as well as new
were coming in.
Overall, there is
a definite drop
in footfalls as compared
to last year. Indians are
definitely getting curious
about fancy colour
diamonds as we have been
getting a lot of enquiries for
the same.
Yogendra Sethi, YS18
We have been
participating in
the IIJS show
since 2014.
Although the
show has been
well organized,
I feel that we
are still behind compared
to international shows
in Hong Kong or Vicenza.
International buyers were
very less in quantity and
big players like Macy’s
and Walmart were not to
be seen. Many exhibitors
made 50% sales but order
confirmation was 30% after
the show. There were some
issues regarding traffic and
entry and exit to the show
venue that created problems
for exhibitors and visitors.
Sanjay Jain, Manoj
Ornaments
The show has
been reasonably
good. People
are quite choosy
and selective
in what they
buy and only if
you are offering
something unique and
completely different, then
they are interested.
