What they Said
Looking at the current market situation,
the show has gone well. Even though
gold is expensive right now, it is a
commodity that will always appreciate.
Jadau, meenakari and other traditional
jewellery are doing well.
Praveen Agarwal, Geeta Shyam
Indian jewellery market is into transition
mainly due to changes in the economy
in terms of GST and banking. In terms of
designs there is a complete paradigm shift
as pastel colours are doing well and coloured
stones are being accepted. More minimal
jewellery catering to the millennial bride has
been popular this season.
Abhishek Raniwala, Raniwala 1881
Upcoming wedding season has seen a lot
of jewellers looking for exceptional coloured
stones to use in their jewellery. We deal in
high end collector’s items that consumers
love to see. Emerald, rubies, sapphires are
always a favourite and there is high demand
for Colombian emeralds which are selling for
as high as $2000-$2500 per carat.
Kamal Punjabi, T.T. Gems
Innovation is important in every sector.
If you don’t come out with good designs,
then you are not going to get attention.
When people visit our booth, first thing
they enquire is about the new collection
we have come out with for IIJS.
Vikas Mehta, Achal Jewels
The show has brought very positive
sentiments for the market. This year,
we have seen more than 30,000 unique
visitors. Show has concluded very well,
defintely above expectations.
Mansukh Kothari, Convener, National
