Follow the path through the park, passing the
climbing stones and grassy semicircle, until the
path divides.
At this point bear right along the path and exit
the park onto Woodside using the stile. Bearing
left continue down the cobbled road passing the
bowling greens and turning left go through the
carpark to re-enter the park, on your left.
Follow this path all the way back through the park
and back out onto Milnrow Rd.
At this point you will need to cross the road and
now have two option for your return to Milnrow
Library.
Turn right and return back through the Jubilee
workings then crossing the tram lines to walk
along the road through Newhey, crossing the
bottom of Huddersfield Rd at the lights and
continuing on into Milnrow and back to the library.
Turning left walk along the foot path until you
reach the industrial estate and retrace your steps
through there, up Two Bridges Rd and along
Railway St to cross Huddersfield Rd and climb
the steps up past the school and church to return
back through the Park to the Library.
This is an easy walk which covers 4.5 miles and
can be completed in approximately 1 hour 45
minutes.
Returning to the Library many of our group enjoy
a relaxing cuppa and biscuit while chatting with
their friends and comparing walks with those who
have chosen to do an alternative route.
Several of the group have recently started taking
advantage of the table games that are provided
by the Library and now bring a sandwich to
eat whilst enjoying challenging each other and
members of the public with the various games
that are available.
There are some of our walkers have experienced
various health problems which have stopped
them from taking part in the walks but they still
come along to enjoy a cuppa, socialise and to join
in playing table games with their friends.
