Cats Care, the Charlotte Bobcats Community Relations department, and the Cats Care Foundation are focused on<br />
serving three <strong>com</strong>munity initiatives: education, hunger, and wellness.<br />
Mission Statement: The Charlotte Bobcats will bring positive and lasting change to our <strong>com</strong>munity through dynamic<br />
programming and a <strong>com</strong>mitment to social responsibility in the areas of education, fitness, and youth and family<br />
development.<br />
Players, coaches, members of the Bobcats ownership group, executive staff and employees are actively engaged<br />
in the <strong>com</strong>munity, volunteering the team’s resources to serve a united <strong>com</strong>mitment to the organization’s three<br />
<strong>com</strong>munity initiatives.<br />
EDUCATION<br />
The Bobcats are motivated to assist with one of Charlotte’s most important and significant<br />
issues; educating the <strong>com</strong>munity’s children. Focused on literacy and driven to instill a love of<br />
learning, we hope to ensure that all kids are equally equipped to pursue their dreams by<br />
means of a quality education.<br />
Education outreach activities include:<br />
• Cool School Field Trip, presented by Jordan Brand<br />
• The Magic of Reading with Rufus, hosted by Rufus and presented by Vemma<br />
• All Stars in Achievement, presented by Wells Fargo<br />
• Freedom Schools at Seigle Point<br />
• National Mentoring Month events<br />
• Black History Month events<br />
• <strong>NBA</strong> Green Week events<br />
• Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Middle and High School Sports Scholarship Awards<br />
and Funding<br />
• Cats Care Day of Service<br />
HUNGER<br />
The Charlotte Bobcats recognize the significant prevalence of hunger impacting youth and<br />
families in the <strong>com</strong>munity. We believe it is essential for our team to join the fight against<br />
hunger in our <strong>com</strong>munity and partner with organizations providing meals for the youth and<br />
families in the far-reaching Charlotte area.<br />
Hunger outreach activities include:<br />
• Second Harvest Food Bank partnership<br />
• Men’s Shelter of Charlotte partnership<br />
• Student Hunger Food Drive<br />
• Hoops and Hope Thanksgiving Dinner<br />
• Dunk Hunger campaign and food drive<br />
