Scott Howard<br />
Director of Scouting<br />
Scott Howard is in his fifth season with the Bobcats as Director of Scouting. He spent the previous season<br />
as a scout with the Milwaukee Bucks, and prior to that, he spent two years with the Toronto Raptors<br />
as Director of International Player Personnel, where he was responsible for all aspects of player personnel<br />
outside of North America and coordinated player workouts ahead of the <strong>NBA</strong> Draft. He also served as a<br />
scout for the Washington Wizards from 2000-04.<br />
Howard also spent 17 years as a collegiate coach, including seven seasons at the University of Miami,<br />
three seasons at the University of Nebraska, and one season each at Southern Illinois, Drake and<br />
Southern California.<br />
Howard received his bachelor’s degree in physical education in 1983 from Iowa State University, where<br />
he was a two-year letterman for the basketball team. He earned his master’s degree in educational<br />
administration from the University of Iowa in 1985 while serving as a volunteer assistant and graduate<br />
assistant coach.<br />
Adam Filippi<br />
Director of International Scouting<br />
Adam Filippi is in his first season with the Bobcats as Director of International Scouting, after spending<br />
the previous 10 years with the Lakers. Filippi, who is based in Bologna, Italy, brings 14 years of scouting<br />
experience to the Bobcats.<br />
Born in Michigan, Filippi moved to Italy when he was eight years old. Following a five-year semi-pro<br />
playing career in Italy, Filippi received his first scouting job with Fortitudo in 1997. After starting his own<br />
scouting service in Italy, he became the youngest scout in the <strong>NBA</strong> in 1999 when was hired by the New<br />
Jersey Nets. He later founded Global Vision, a Europe-based scouting service that consulted with <strong>12</strong> <strong>NBA</strong><br />
teams, including the Lakers, before joining the Lakers scouting staff full-time in the summer of 2001.<br />
In addition to his scouting work, Filippi has worked with over 100 <strong>NBA</strong> and top overseas players as a<br />
player development coach, instructing at clinics and camps in Africa, China, Italy and throughout the<br />
United States. In February <strong>2011</strong>, he released his first instructional book, “Shoot Like the Pros: the Road<br />
to a Successful Shooting Technique,” which includes a forward by Jerry West. A Certified Personal Trainer<br />
and Performance Enhancement Specialist, Filippi speaks four languages: English, Italian, Spanish and<br />
French. Filippi and his wife, Gaia, have three daughters, Jade, Amber and Ally.<br />
