TIME WARNER CABLE ARENA<br />

On April 8, 2008, Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) announced a naming rights agreement had been<br />

reached with Time Warner Cable, in which the arena located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, North Carolina,<br />

was renamed Time Warner Cable Arena. Opened on October 21, 2005, with a sold-out performance by The<br />

Rolling Stones, Time Warner Cable Arena is home to the <strong>NBA</strong>’s Charlotte Bobcats and AHL’s Charlotte Checkers<br />

and will host almost 200 events in <strong>2011</strong>-20<strong>12</strong>, including college and professional sports, major concerts<br />

and family shows.<br />

Since opening its doors six years ago, Time Warner Cable Arena has played host to the biggest names in<br />

entertainment, including Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, Beyonce, U2, Lady<br />

Gaga, Taylor Swift, Prince, Billy Joel and Elton John. Over the years, Time Warner Cable Arena has also<br />

hosted multiple visits from family shows like the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice,<br />

Monster Jam and the Harlem Globetrotters. College basketball has also quickly be<strong>com</strong>e a staple at the<br />

venue, with the CIAA, Southern Conference, ACC and NCAA all bringing their tournaments to the building,<br />

along with a bevy of regular season games. In <strong>2011</strong>, the Jordan Brand Classic made the move from its<br />

former home in Madison Square Garden to Time Warner Cable Arena and will return in April 20<strong>12</strong> to once<br />

again showcase the top high school players in the nation. In September 20<strong>12</strong>, Time Warner Cable Arena<br />

will proudly host the Democratic National Convention.<br />

“Our goal is to make Time Warner Cable Arena the epicenter for sports and entertainment in the Carolinas,”<br />

said BSE President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield. “We do that by attracting world class<br />

performances to this world class facility, and showcasing uptown Charlotte as one of the region’s most<br />

vibrant and energetic destinations.”<br />
