Third, share your knowledge <strong>and</strong> ideas with people<br />

who are in need of support <strong>and</strong> encouragement.<br />

Simple words may be a big help to others. Lead by<br />

example: you cannot show the way if you do not turn<br />

on the flashlight.<br />

Helping others will give you indescribable happiness,<br />

a fulfilled heart <strong>and</strong> will also help you create a good<br />

social interaction.<br />

SLOW DOWN<br />

Fourth, take time for yourself; remember that the race is<br />

not won at the beginning. It is easy to fall in the crowd of<br />

panic <strong>and</strong> fear. It is important that as you run your race,<br />

you should hone your skills, appreciate your flaws, <strong>and</strong><br />

remember that happiness is not about who achieved<br />

it first but who did it right. Take time to relax, observe,<br />

<strong>and</strong> seek inner peace. Slow down <strong>and</strong> appreciate life's<br />

blessings.<br />

Build your resilience by taking deep breaths of fresh air<br />

<strong>and</strong> savour in the taste of delicious <strong>and</strong> healthy meals.<br />

Step outside the room <strong>and</strong> smile at the sunshine that<br />

wants to bless you with vitamins of bliss <strong>and</strong> gleeful<br />

thoughts. Be one with nature <strong>and</strong> get out of the fast<br />

routine. Enjoy life to the fullest without the hassle.<br />

Remember that change is a story with two sides. Your<br />

mindset defines your point of view, it designs your<br />

reactions, <strong>and</strong> your purpose confirms your end result<br />

whether it's good or bad. A life of happiness means that<br />

you have to commit to being happy. It means you have to<br />

accept the glass as half full <strong>and</strong> not half empty.<br />

There’s always room to grow <strong>and</strong> glow. Build your<br />

resilience with positive thoughts, exercise those thoughts<br />

with purpose. Share your views, try to help others <strong>and</strong><br />

never forget to slow down. Always think that Rome was<br />

never built in a day; time wasted will bring a disaster,<br />

while time spent wisely will bring you closer to mastery.<br />

Jerome Douglas is a 27-year old trained teacher, poet <strong>and</strong> writer<br />

from the beautiful isl<strong>and</strong> of Jamaica. His personal philosophy<br />

is “If it is for me to be, then it is up to me.” He attended the<br />

Catholic College of M<strong>and</strong>eville in Jamaica. Additionally, he is a<br />

community builder <strong>and</strong> humanitarian who volunteers his time<br />

to help with the academic <strong>and</strong> social well-being of people in<br />

his Central Jamaica community <strong>and</strong> surrounding areas.<br />
