EXPRESSYOURSELF!Individuality, originality, creative freedom… Creative HEAD tookto Instagram to share the chance to form the cover shoot for theChristmas issue, the final edition of this unprecedented year.In partnership with Matrix, we invited creatives from across the UK – independentfreelancers and salon-based stylists – to submit a short film that capturedthemselves and their vision, as we hunted out freethinking stylists buzzing withideas and passion with stories to tell. We wanted each look from each artist to bea story of self-expression; their voice in visual form. What do you stand for asan artist? What fuels your creativity? What stamp do you want to leave on thehairdressing industry?It’s a blank page for these fiercely independent talents to showcase somethingthat feels completely, authentically them – powered by Matrix and its mission toprovide a creative playground for artists to express themselves completely. Withtwo brilliant Matrix mentors – Lisa Farrall and Ria Kulik – there behind the scenesto support and nurture these individual and personal stories, this was a chance tofollow their own brief, a wide open space of possibility… and that’s just the way welike it!The playground is open to all – the Matrix Colour Collective. This comprisesinspirational, creative, individual and authentic colour specialists; a mix of eclectic,fresh and unique talent. The movement cultivates a community of hairdresserswith different skills and levels of experience from all walks of life, all with a sharedvision: to push the boundaries of hair. Whether a salon employee or a freelancerworking independently, the Matrix Colour Collective welcomes hairdressers into itscommunity who find inspiration through ideas and skills, sharing and learning fromone another… just like this incredible shoot.Supported by Matrix education and an extensive professional colour and haircareportfolio, each individual can discover their own path, allowing them to be theirtrue, authentic selves without ever feeling alone. Matrix Colour Collective is not amembers-only club; it’s an open invitation to be a part of something bigger.A way for artists to come together in a welcoming community to explore, shareideas, create and learn from each other, while trying new and existing colourand retail with complete confidence.
