The Beach Shack is a funky takeaway spot 

with casual deck space to sit and eat. Situated 

in Umdloti beach, their mission is to serve 

wholesome, nutritious meals at affordable prices

signature dish is Traditional Fish and Chips (R85), 

followed by their popular Burgers (R60), which

Café Turka 

Murat Oncel, the owner of Café Turka, 

immigrated from Turkey four years ago where he 

owned and ran a small restaurant in Marmaris. 

Passionate about making good Turkish food, 

his speciality is lamb doner kebab which is 

made with meat (lamb, chicken or beef ) that 

is marinated and seasoned in the shape of an 

inverted cone and slowly cooked while turning 

on the rotisserie. The slow cooked meat is sliced

Melanie Powell first started the original Food 

Fundi in the Lowveld 10 years ago, where their

coffee and chocolate brownies bagged them a 

few awards. Jason is a well-travelled, Prue Leith 

trained chef, and Food Fundi is a rustic, farmto-table 

culmination of his travels and Mel’s
