Food Fundi Café
Food Fundi Café is a day-time restaurant situated
at Ballito’s Sugar Rush Park. Owners Jason and
Melanie Powell first started the original Food
Fundi in the Lowveld 10 years ago, where their
famous bread, homemade pickles and pestos,
coffee and chocolate brownies bagged them a
few awards. Jason is a well-travelled, Prue Leith
trained chef, and Food Fundi is a rustic, farmto-table
culmination of his travels and Mel’s
experience as a food critic and lifestyle magazine
editor. Look forward to all-day breakfasts, woodfired
pizzas, bowl salads, burgers and gourmet
sharing boards, as well as excellent coffee and
freshly baked goods.
