Entry requirements<br />
• A GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in English Language<br />
and an interest in developing your English<br />
Language skills.<br />
• To be enrolled on a full-<strong>time</strong> Level 3 course at<br />
<strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
About the course<br />
Gain a deeper understanding of how to communicate<br />
and develop expression with this nationally<br />
recognised AS Level course. Studying both fiction<br />
and poetry, you will develop your creative writing<br />
& critical thinking skills. You will also have the<br />
opportunity to be creative in word, print, paint or<br />
music when exploring a set theme.<br />
You will earn additional UCAS points to help with a<br />
university application.<br />
Your future<br />
Studying English at AS Level can improve career<br />
choices and increase your earning prospects, as<br />
the skills learnt are increasingly important in the<br />
workplace and in Higher Education. An AS Level<br />
qualification is worth up to 20 valuable UCAS points.<br />

interest in applying maths skills to problem<br />
solving.<br />

About the course<br />
This course is perfect if you want to continue<br />
developing valuable maths skills whilst studying a<br />
full-<strong>time</strong> vocational course. Many roles in today’s<br />
workplace require high levels of maths-based<br />
problem-solving skills and budget management. Core<br />
Maths is a useful tool to equip you with these skills. It<br />
is a two year course and is assessed by a final exam.<br />
Your future<br />
Studying maths at Level 3 can improve career<br />
