Course length: 15 months | Code: 3382<br />
Entry requirements<br />
• An apprenticeship vacancy in your chosen area.<br />
• You will have an interview.<br />
• These will be set by the employer, but typically<br />
include 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including<br />
grade 4 (C) or above in English & maths.<br />
• You must pass an initial assessment in English<br />
& maths.<br />
About the course<br />
An Accounts Assistant is an integral part of the team<br />
responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate<br />
finance function within a business. The Accounts<br />
Assistant is responsible for assisting the team of<br />
accountants with junior accounting duties. These can<br />
vary massively depending on the team structure and<br />
size of business. It could include basic bookkeeping<br />
activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers,<br />
running calculations to ensure that records and<br />
payments are correct, recording of cash and data<br />
entry.<br />
During the apprenticeship you will be required<br />
to pass the AAT level 2 Foundation Certificate in<br />
Accounting. In order to achieve this apprenticeship,<br />
you will need to show that you have the<br />
knowledge skills and behaviours appropriate to<br />
this role. Assessment will be through an End Point<br />
Assessment (EPA), which consists of a structured<br />
interview and an in-tray test.<br />
Your future<br />
You can progress to the Level 3 Assistant Accountant<br />
Apprenticeship. Alternatively, you can use the<br />
knowledge, skills and experience you have gained to<br />
progress further in your career.<br />
