By: Pat Alexander / Art of EntertainingIt’s happened again, I have little to say.It happens so rarely, so I’m marking thisday. When I tell you my stories they’re based on fact,There are a few little changes, but that’s due to tact.I could make something up if my brain would comply,But it doesn’t even seem to want to try.So answer my question if you think that you can.Why does life in a bubble leave my thoughts tossed like rubble?I’d really like to take a cruise, the fact that I can’t, gives me the blues.I’d like to travel to Italy to take classes in cooking but there’s no wayto go and I can’t get a booking.Out for fine dining? Not in the cards,Social gatherings, it’s really so hard.Email and texting, they keep me in touch, but without my bubble, life wouldn’t be much.My friends and my family, they bring me cheer,They are the ones in my life I hold so dear.So to those in my bubble I just want to sayThank you! You make it worthwhile to get up each day. It’s always been that my words just take flightBut then I felt free, now freedom’s not in sight.I feel stuck in a cage, there’s nowhere to goThis is supposed to end, but when? Do you know?20Don’t Burst My BubblePat Alexander writes about all things home. Let us decorateourselves, our pets, our dolls. Are you with me?Shakespeare wrote:” She (he) wears her (his) faith but as the fashionof her (his) hat.” What? It really meansthat you can tell a person’s belief orpersonality by their hat.I will not go into a history lesson ofthe evolution of hats. But let us talk hats, glorious hats.A hat can change how you feel, andeven compliment a mask, or make themask look like an accessory to it. My hatrack, pictured here, is my beginning. Itis covered with masks too, but only outof necessity. My beautiful friend Phree Bartleytrims hats as a business. She startedtrimming hats for her dolls as a littlegirl and never stopped. You can give heryour favorite hat, and she will trim it foryou. You can contact Phree by getting intouch with me.Phree also styles chapeaus for dogsand for dolls with chin straps. If you lovedressing your fur baby, why not matchinghats for yourself AND your dog!And if you have dolls, she styles forthem also. Or your teddy bear, right?I am perusing my hats (I have astack, as you can see) for which ones Iwould like Phree to trim. I will includepictures in my next article, with a maskto compliment the hat.Phree believes there is magic in a hat;I do too. “Hats have power. Hats canchange you into someone else.” - Catherine M. ValenteHats also make you taller, mysterious, and unique. A great hat doesspeak for itself.Remember, you do not have to look perfect, but if you feel beautifulit will show, in your hat!And do not get me started on shoes. But this begins at the head, witha great hat.Grab your coat, and grab your hat, leave your worries on the doorstep.Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street!Sandi Davis is the Fashion Style columnist and Behind-the-ScenesResearch Analyst for The Vegas Voice.
