Conclusion
Precise planning and excellent
collaboration among the members of the
dental team are essential in the treatment
of complex cases. It is important to carry
out surgical interventions carefully and in
stages which immensely contributes to the
final aesthetic outcome. The ability to use
translucent zirconium oxide in the anterior
tooth region, due to the highly attractive
optical properties of this material, opens
up entirely new aesthetic possibilities.
In complex restorative procedures in
the anterior zone, straightforward,
well-planned and digitally based
treatment protocols are the method of
choice for obtaining predictable and
reproducible results. DA

Dr. Stephen Koubi graduated from the Marseille University School
of Dentistry, France, in 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he worked as a
clinical assistant at the Hôpital Louis Mourier (Hôpitaux de Paris) in
the Department of Stomatology headed by Prof. Poidatz. In addition,
he was research assistant at the University of Paris V, School of
Dentistry in Montouge. In June 2001, he received the AEA diploma
(clinical traineeship) and the DEA diploma (postgraduate study program) at the department
headed by Prof. de Lumley of the Hôpital Nord in Marseille, France. He earned a doctorate
degree in dental surgery in 2001. In the same year, he became an assistant at the
department of Conservative Odontology headed by Prof. Koubi at the University Clinic of
Marseille, France.
Dr. Koubi opened a private dental practice in Marseille in 2002. In 2004, he obtained a
university diploma in oral implantology. In April 2004, he was appointed assistant professor
at the Department of Conservative Odontology of the Marseille University School of Dentistry.
He became the Associate Professor in 2008 and earned his PhD in 2011. Moreover, he was
awarded the Gold Molar by the students of Marseille University. In 2009, he established a
private dental practice in Paris, France.
Dr. Koubi is the founder of “L'institut de la facette”, a private training centre established
in 2013 which mainly focuses on laminate veneer restorations and the minimally invasive
rehabilitation of worn dentitions. Dr Koubi is the author of various national and international
publications and reports. He has lectured internationally on the topics of aesthetic dentistry,
smile design, wear and erosion.
MDT Gérald Ubassy is a dental ceramist, a gold medal prize-winner of the
best workmen of France contest in 1986 and directs his own laboratory
since 1982.
He has authored three books :
• “SHAPE AND COLOR” the keys to success in dental ceramic porcelain
(Quintessence Publishing), translated into 7 languages and a book for
communication regarding natural teeth,
• “ANALYSIS”, the New Way in Dental Communication, Publishers “M.E.A” as well as a
recent book about his work philosophy and all his hints :
• “TIPS AND HINTS” translated into 14 languages, publishers “Teamwork media srl”.
He is an organiser for more than 15 years of practical training courses in his International
Dental Training Center in Rochefort du Gard. He continues to share and communicate
his knowledge in lectures and training courses.
