This week sees the startof
Pennants.Monday just gone we
had teams at Fairlie and Grand
Vue, notsureof results as writing
this,but I’msure we canchalkup
twobig wins. On Sundaywehave
the startofthe Patterson group
with two Ashburton teams. The
old men smashed theyoung pups
twicelastyear, so rightly carry
theAshburton 1moniker.
After holding preseason trials,
averystrong team hasbeen
selected by CaptainChaos and a
big year is expected. Young Tom
was recently seen raking through
the rubbish skips trying to pull an
Ashburton 2team together. I
think theboard mayneedtokeep
an eyeonthem andmaybe re
name them as Mayfield 2or
something, just athought, as we
don’t wantthem dragging our
